After the occurrence of yet another Slender Stabbing, I cannot help but wonder why these brutalities are happening now. Part of my inner skeptic says that this is another era of moral panic and hysteria, while another side of me says that this 'Slender Killings' trend is alarming. I can only wonder; why now? After all this time with this mythos on the internet, these killings happen now. 

It seems reminiscent of the satanic panic of the 80's; the Witch Panic of Salem, the New England Vampire Panic, The Cold War Spy and Domino Effect, and beyond. What drives people to act like this, purely on the basis of the existence of demonic entities, or something supposedly scary and evil? I do believe there is a God, and therefore because of this, there must be a Devil, for God said there was. 
But THIS is no work of the Devil; this seems like a period of mass hysteria and influence which drive the minority of the vox populi mad. This has happened before, and yes, what is concerning is WHO can determine reality from the fiction. Those who cannot escape the fictional world are the ones we must be fearful of. 
However, this doesn't mean that all Creepy Pasta readers are evil, or deluded. 

Creepy Pasta readers, I beg of you, if you have any sense, is to turn your back from the fictional world for the sake of sensitivity, and return back to the real world. Become the real you once more, and realize that fiction is fiction.
